This is my first time posting a customer review. I am so impressed with these cards they have moved me to set a new precedent for myself. My buddies and I play poker every Sunday with these cards. We have been playing pretty consistently with the same 2 decks for the past 3 months. I am simple astonished by how well they have held up from pretty constant card play. I am talking about "Texas Hold'em" where we all feel the need to mimic the pros on TV and turn up the corners of our cards to see our holdings. Even with this type of mistreatment, the cards are in virtually perfect condition.

These cards are exponentially better than the traditional paper versions. This is an absolute must have for all card playing enthusiasts!

I just bought these cards on Amazon after using the drugs store brand Bicycle for years. After a few rough nights of playing, the Bicycle cards are trash. Bent corners and beer spills do them in. These Copags are amazing. I never new high end cards matter. Light, flexible and they seem more durable (too soon to tell). So far, well worth thr money. Just spring for a nice set rather than wasting money on the cheap ones.

I got my deck rather quickly. Not more than two days after my order was processed. While the bottom of the carton was a little bent. The cards and the rest of the stuff were perfect. I have no complants what's so ever about the cards quality. The same as buying it anywhere else. Only much cheaper, which as any card collector will tell you. A very good thing! If you watch the tv show you'll notice that many of the cards in this deck belong to that wierd-looking Dr. Crowler and just the thought of that kind of creeps me out to tell you the truth. As I was going through the deck I was disgusted to know it had a bunch of Crowler cards but you know they're actually pretty good. Not only does this deck have good cards but incredible combos already packed in it. What I like even more is that it barely has any repeats. It could easily stand up against any of the other decks and win! Just get it and see for yourself.

I like most of the questions in this boxed card game, which i bought for long car trips this summer. Some of the questions are too "advanced" for my 13 year old, so i took them out of the deck we'll use this summer. I like the 2-deck format (one for quick responses, one for longer, more thoughtful responses). Can create an atmosphere of non-judgemental values exchange...depending on the parent and the kid(s). Very portable. The reason i didn't offer a 5-star is about 20% of the cards have the phrase "Ask one player a question" which is annoying because the reason i bought the cards was to have a "list" of questions for my teen that are NOT my questions. I think 5% would be acceptable to me. Also, the cards are rather small; i would prefer the size of playing cards.

Canasta is a great game and is a lot of fun!! I would suggest buying the standard version though. The Deluxe Caliente version comes with a goofy plastic card holder that is not worth using, and four negative bonus cards that make it "Caliente". We threw those cards out after a few games. Buy the cheaper one. It's just the same- only without the expensive gimmicks.

The first moment I saw this deck I got really excited because I played it against my monarch deck that I love to use and I have never be beaten with, but I got impressed how much battle the dinosaur deck gave to me because every time I gained control of the table the dinosaurs deck just played a trap used an special summon from Gilasaurus and played a Dark Driceratops tributing the gilasaurus and then it destroyed my monarch, of course I was using a monarch deck so I won, but the dinosaurs ware really good at winning before almost losing and the Survival Instinct, Tyranno Infinity combo is super cool.

I bought this game for the age range child it is designed for - but - it becomes very boring. The tokens you collect become repetitive - pretend to get ready for bed, brush your teeth, put your pj's on, etc. It's all good until you do it for the 10th time and they get thoroughly bored. The monkeys jumping off the bed is the only part they like and they usually get frustrated because it takes too long and just push the button until the bed "jumps" and bounces the monkeys off. I just think it's a lot of money for a game like this when, for the same amount, you can find something much more fun and interesting - even for those who cannot read. It "looks" like it will be fun - but in reality - it becomes boring very quickly.

first of all i got this product because i needed the land cards to build some decks (i had already got a different 1000 cards pack and it came with about 50 lands, but mostly forest, islands and plains). to my disappointment i only got 21 lands in this set (2 non-basic, 6 mountain, 11 plains, 1 swamp, 1 island, 0 forest). there were a good bit of cards that i received more than four of, i would say at least a total of 10-12 unique cards came in excess of 6 duplicates. also there were not many, or should i say few-none newer sets/blocks cards.

considering the cost of the cards and how much they would be in a shop, this is still an amazing deal. all of the cards were in great shape also (mint or near-mint condition). i would recommend it to anyone looking to get some cards to start out, but if you already own a bunch and need to pump up some decks, just get individual cards or something, cause this isn't for anyone past the intermediate stage of game play.

These cards are great, they have the classic faces and numbers. The only let down is that they are about half a centimeter bigger than the poker sized cards. This may seem like nothing but when you are used to the poker cards, this is a huge difference. Other wise, the cards have the normal finish and are just like any other except for the back which is good looking.

It is essentially a game of war - you scream and slam your hand on top of the pile if the cards happen to be flipped over in a certain combination (two of the same next to each other ("a double decker") or two of the same cards on either side of a different card ("a slamwich"). There is absolutely no educational value to this game, it's just a game that will have your kids yelling and arguing about who won a particular slam.

I have a five year old son and a ten year old daughter. It's hard to find games that both kids enjoy equally.

We played this with the simpler variation suggested (not using the Muncher cards), and it was a hit with all of us.

It is a game of speed and reaction, so it's no surprise that the 10-year-old beat her old mom and her young brother, but my son thought it was so much fun to watch, that he was laughing hysterically the whole time. He didn't win very much, but apparently watching mom and sister have a slapping contest made the game a lot of fun for him.

I recently bought SlamWich based on a recommendation and I think it is really fun! It is fast and silly and enjoyable. My 5 year old twins were easily able to play. (Actually, we removed those 1,2,3 cards for now to make it easier, but we'll try to add them back soon.

I did play once with my husband and he did whack my hand pretty hard (it twisted my finger a bit) so I can see where the one person with a "1" star rating was coming from, but I don't blame the game for that - I blame my over-zealous husband! :-)

Since then, I went and purchased several of the Gamewright games, and I think they are all pretty fun. For me, it has been money well spent.

We have added some silly variations to the game - like if you get a Tomato and then Red jelly combination, we yell: Red Wich. Or Green Lettuce and Green Pickles: Green Wich. And Hot Dog next to Bacon: Meat Wich. That sort of thing. Which makes it tricker because there are more combinations to look for.

I believe this game is made by a small company in Massachusetts which adds to the appeal for me.

Really fun and highly recommended by me!

The cards are durable, it's easy to play, and I love the names of the colors. She has known red, yellow, and blue for nearly 2 years, so it is nice to learn new colors like chartreuse, turquoise, jade, etc. Wonderful game!

This card game is great, because the rules are simple and it's educational: the first person to use all of his/her cards wins; you play cards that match by color, shape, or number (1 through 5 images on each card). My 5-year-old is able to play it. She's not fast, but she gets the concept, and I've noticed she has increased in her ability to match and she's become quicker. It's a quick game (usually 2 minutes or so), so you don't lose their attention. We play 2 or 3 games and we're done. Clean up is a snap. It's intended to be a 2-player game, but we've played it with 3 and 4 players. (I don't recommend it for all 5-year-olds, but if you know one who can count to 5 in their heads and is comfortable with various shapes and colors, then they should be able to play this game.)

Our 5-year old loves this game and even plays it by himself and gives us blow by blow action if I'm making supper and can't play. Our 11 yr-old likes it as well. Probably because losers are winners and the kids love to see how different the races turns out each time. The card took a while to get to me and the waiting was probably made worse by the fact that they never sent a shipping progress e-mail to me. But other than that the cards themselves were pretty decent, there were repeats of up to 5 of one card but also a good mix. I ended up using several of the cards in my deck because they were legimitaly good. One of them was "Nobleman-Eater Bug" which is a 5 star monster that can destroy 2 monsters when flipped. So that and the fact that all the cards were older ones was probably one of the highlights of getting this lot for me. Overall though I enjoyed the excitment of looking through over 50 new cards and finding some that worked well for me so it's a better buy than going out and buying a bunch of booster packs because you'll get a lot less cards for a lot more money.

For those of you who are new at the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, I suggest you start with a Starter (naturally!), but you'll want to get this and other Structure Decks eventually. Not only do they contain many of what we call "Staple," or standard, cards--which are found in nearly every deck due to their sheer unbridled power--they are built tough and ready to duel with cards that work with one another--not so with the Starters. Unless you're experienced, however, you won't know how to use 'em, so start with the Starters.

This particular Starter Deck, the "Blaze of Destruction" starter, comes with some deadly combos. Backfire burns your opponent for 500 damage every time he kills off one of your flaming beasts; Solar Flare Dragon burns 'em for another 500 every turn and can't be attacked if another Pyro-Type is in play on your side of the field; Ultimate Baseball Kid gains 1000 points for every Pyro-Type on your side of the field, for a possible 4000 points; Infernal Flame Emperor has the potential to blast every Spell or Trap your opponent has in play right into next week upon his very dramatic entrance.

To really see the destructive power this deck possesses, buy one and try it out. It's a good place to start if you want to get into tournament play--you won't win any regionals with it, granted, but it's a good place to start nonetheless.

I like how creative this game is and the things it gets you to do. I love after some time the kids just make up their own moves. We never use the foam stick; it's true that it's not built well but it still helps us to be creative. Instead I will have them go under the table, a stick or something silly we put up. I like that we're creative with it but the point is why do I have to redo your game that I paid for. I suggest they redo the game without the stick and just have more items to use. You don't need the stick anyway.

I bought this as a gift for my 4 year old daughter, a year later she still enjoys it. This game is a different variety from your typical board game, making a good addition to your board game collection. The pieces are somewhat flimsy in that they bend and fold easily, but they are made of strong enough foam and plastic that barring complete misuse they will last as long as you want them too. The game play is involved and silly and your child enjoys performing their task as well as watching you and other players have to perform a given task. The pictures on the cards describing what task you must complete are well thought out and become easy for a child to figure out with slight repetition without knowing how to read them. Overall this was a fun purchase that I am happy to have made.

We bought this game for our son for Christmas, and 6 months later...he is still asking to play it almost everyday! This game is great for helping kids to follow a set of instructions with several steps. It will instill good listening skills and boost morale...Kids are encouraged to say, "I can do that!" And, it is just right, in my opinion, for the 4 to 6 year old...teaching them some new things, but not discouraging them by being too difficult.

My only qualm would be the flimsy construction of the "trick-a-ma-stick." You have to take it apart and put it back together with every play, and is not very sturdy at all.

My 6 yr old loves this game of War. The food chain comes to life in this game of who eats who. Besides the plankton, shrimp, little fish, big fish and Shark, there are also electric eel cards and ink out octopus cards for added excitement. The game is played like war, but the instructions add a slap Jack element. This is not my favorite part. We have limited the slap jack part to just the electric eel card, which still annoys me and makes it difficult for a younger child to play with older children. The ink out card prevents anyone from winning that set of cards and gives the person with less shark cards a chance to win shark cards from the other person. This game can go on and on, don't be afraid to adjust some rules to make this game more enjoyable for your little one and not so complicated.

Gamewright has this way of taking an old standard- in this case slapjack- adding a couple minor improvements, and turning it into something that seems so much more. My 5 year old daughter loves this. I would reccommend this for 5-7 year olds... not so much for older kids. I think beyond a certain age this game will lose a little of it's luster (Gamewright are masters at grabbing kids' attentions with fun visuals) and certainly any developmental benefit.

Chomp is a fast card game that works best with three or more players but still has several variations for use with two players. The object is simple, get all of the cards. This is done by simulating the food chain in the ocean and being very quick to recognize cards and react faster than the other players. The chain is represented by plankton, shrimp, small fish, large fish, seals, and sharks. There are also electric eels and octopus ink that add some twists.

After the cards are evenly distributed among the players, they all reveal their top card simultaneously. This card represents them in the food chain. The object is to be the first player to slap their hand on the lowest link and yell "chomp!" That player gets to collect the cards played. There are penalties for chomping when you shouldn't or chomp the wrong thing. The player who is the lowest in the hand can't chomp anything.

If an octopus comes into play, its ink keeps everyone from getting eaten. These cards are held to the side and included in the next hand's winnings. If an electric eel is played, it starts a feeding frenzy (even if there is an octopus). The first player to slap the eel and yell "Feeding frenzy!" wins the hand. Play continues until there are only two players left with cards. The game can them be resolved in one of three ways.

Although this award-winning game is rated for ages six and up, my not-quite-four-year-old really enjoys playing and is able to hold his own. Check it out.

the cards i received were in very good condition, and arrived on the esstimated time. but the cards came in a ziploc plastic bag, which is a little chessy. i had ordered this, along with another set of 100,a differnt set, assuming they would be completly different, but there was a lot of repeats in both, (up to 8 of one card!) over all, id say this was still a worth it deal, simply going by the fact that it was about six bucks. also, it comes with exactly 100 ,(or 200 in my case) and did not come with any rares, or holograms. but like i said, it was still probobly worth it.

Was using Copags, decided to try out the supposedly gold standard in cards.

Just got the deck, and was disappointed to find that 4 of the cards had significant defects in the paint. The 4 cards had paint flakes on them that can't be washed or scrubbed off, and were rough to touch, screwing up the smoothness/flatness of the cards.

Also, a number of other cards had small stain lines in the white background, but this was ok since it didn't screw up the flatness of the cards.

Go with Copags. Cheaper and better quality control.

The ranks of poker enthusiasts seem to be fairly evenly divided among the KEM and Copag supporters. Either side has their die-hard loyalists who cling hard and fast to their preferred brand. Well, I like them both, although I do have a slight preference for the KEMs. In my review, I will only describe the absolute merits of the KEMs, rather than compare them head-to-head with any other brand of plastic cards, which I feel is splitting hairs.

The KEM cards come out of the box smelling a little funny (ah, that new card smell), and slide like teflon over each other. The smell dissipates with a couple of uses, but the smoothness lasts. The cards are simply a pleasure to shuffle and deal, and nearly impossible to damage in the course of normal use. The edges and corners remain pristine. A spilled drink or stray salsa no longer spells death for your cards; a quick wipe renders them as good as new. Ditto for sweaty hands.

The printing on the cards is crisp and visible. I personally prefer the classic look of this size to any jumbo index cards. The cards have roughly the same thickness as any other deck, and about the same flexibility as regular paper cards. They don't look or feel overtly different from quality paper cards in your hand, apart from their nonstick cookware-like slide. The KEM cards are more springy when you shuffle them.

The bottom line: these cards are luxurious but practical. They might seem like a splurge considering you're getting 108 pieces of printed plastic, but they might be cheaper than buying new paper cards every time a deck wears out. I'd love to tell you how long these last, but my poker buddies and I have yet to wear out a deck.

This product was a little unexpected as far as the finish. These cards shuffle unbelievably well. I put one of the extra cards through a stress test, and it exceeded my expectations. Waterproof, don't bend, crease, or bend at all on the edges. Also, when holding them they curve, but don't stay that way. It took quite a bit to actually make a crease in one. Far beyond normal card use. However, this is kind of hard to explain, but they are kind of slippery I guess. Not like wet slippery, but almost like new paper card slippery. I haven't used them a lot yet, so that may go away with time. Overall, a very good buy for any card players that want to never have to buy another deck of cards in their life.

This deck is somewhat over hyped by the reviewers. Yes the print is nice and the black and gold looks very professional, but their is less quality in the cut. The decks are plastic but lightly pressed and the weight of the card is comparable to a standard Bicycle deck, which actually feels heavier. The cards are not heavy enough to snap and shuffling corner-to-corner (casino required shuffling for dealers) is more difficult than it should be for plastic cards. Also, if you're looking at these for poker playing - BEWARE. When dealing from the corner spot on a poker table the cards aren't heavy enough to slide on the felt across the table and at times flip up (because they are to light). The design of the card is the only reason to get these. Functionally there's nothing special about them.

We used to use Kem's in my club, but have switched to Copags, and I can tell you these are so much better. They glide well on both sides (we had issue's with Kem's not gliding depending on the color and the side). You can wash them (the Kem's ink would wear after a while). They are harder to mark (trying to dig your nail into the corner will make it pretty obvious). They stay flat and fresh, even after a year and a half of pretty heavy use. So, you are paying abour 6 times what you would pay for a set of Bicycle's, but they will outlast them 100 times over. I have not tried some of the newer acetate cards, but I have no need to. The box is great and stays closed.....you just can't get a better value either. You will save a lot in the long run. Lastly, these feel much better than the Kem's. I'm glad we switched (Kem quality had dropped a lot since they were bought out, and they became a huge waste of money for us, and after getting ripped by the company for 4 decks, we switched). Stick with Copag, you will be happy. It does take a little getting used to at first, because they are pretty slick, but once you use them you will not want to use anything else.

Our family plays this game a few times a year, we would play it more except there is no challenges or surprises or humor. You answer the question, you move your piece forward, first one there wins.

I have an 8 year old and a 15 year old, who get bored with that pretty fast. There should be bonus rounds, or gross or silly questions that the kids would like, or lightning rounds where the person, who can name the most apostles, commandments, tribes etc, gets to skip a level or knock everyone else back a space. Games with some risk like Trouble, Hi Ho Cherry-O, and chutes and Ladders are always in demand at our house, I wish this Bible Trivia game had some excitement to it.

The questions are uneven, and we joke that God has predestined my husband to win every time. He has the most Bible knowledge, yet everyone else gets questions like "Which king of Israel destroyed the house of Jeroboam," while my husband gets, "Who was Adams wife?"

There are two sets of cards with two levels of difficulty, which is good, and we have changed the game so that the person reading the card can pick which question to ask, based on the knowledge level of the person, and that helps.

All in all it is a good game to have around the house, as my husband and I sometimes quiz each other using just the cards (and not the board) for the fun of it.

Oh, one more thing, we have the Cadaco Bible Trivia, but our cards do not comment on the answers like another reviewer mentioned. Our cards just have the answer and the Bible reference such as in the above question, "Which king of Israel destroyed the house of Jeroboam," the answer merely says, "Baasja (1 Kings 15)" Our game is dated 1984.

This toy is a great idea. Kids think and experiment until they find a configuration that works. That aspect of it is great. What I don't care for is the brittle plastic. Several pieces cracked the first few times we played with it. And that was supervised play at the table, no rough stuff. Some of the pcs don't fit together easily, and any kind of pressure causes the plastic to crack. We have used lots of superglue and salvaged everything so far, but kind of a drag that it is so fragile.

I bought this product a couple years ago for my then four-year old daughter. She was very excited about it then, and still enjoys playing with it now. It is a popular toy with the children in my preschool class and one that is often brought out when friends are over.

Younger children will have a hard time assembling a working run on their own.

It won't last forever. As I said, we've had it for over two years now and have used it quite a bit. The purple wheel pieces never worked very well (marbles would get caught up in them) and broke easily. We have some blue connector pieces that have cracks and won't stack anymore. Despite that, I feel it is a good value for the money because it is an inexpensive set and lasted through a lot of playtime.

Now that I've seen how much the kids enjoy it and how timeless it is (children of many ages seem to gravitate toward it), I'll probably buy a wooden set because they appear more durable. If you aren't sure if your children will like it or think they might tire of it, get this set first and try it out. I wasn't disappointed.

I got this for our (at the time) 9 year old son. It is fun to play and a challenge for a child. As an adult, it is easy to figure out that the outer ring of squares can be used to move the inner set of nine into place. Once you get the gist of this, it is easy to complete the puzzle in less than a minute. This makes it tough because children take quite a bit longer.

So, the point is that the challenge is not there for adults (but it is really a child's game) so be prepared to take your time while playing.

The game is well made, colorful and durable.

We also do pattern play and other harder puzzles that are suggested in the directions.

I have to add that after its initial thrill, it is not a game my son has gone back to a lot.

Shown this game at a family reunion, loved it and had to get one. Unfortunately manufacturer has added "Super Peek" feature with card values imprinted on card face, these values are easily read without use of red glases and someone can "cheat" by knowing value of cards.

Recommend manufacturer eliminate this and go back to original format, otherwise you will have to block face printing to eliminate clue to values.

My nine year old loves this game and I enjoy it, too. However, this version has "super peek" which allows you to look at the back of the cards in play with a red plastic film and learn what they all are if you draw the "super peek". We have found that manufacturer did not do a good enough job in disguising the hidden identities on the card backs. Thus, even without the super peek decoder, it is possible to determine the identities of the cards. This makes it hard not to cheat.

I would recommend the original version which does not include the super peek. My advice to the manufacturer would be to come up with a better obscuring technique if you wish to keep the super peek.

One of the things I like the most about this card game is that my 15, 13 and 7 year old can all play together and the youngest one can beat the older children.

Each player is dealt 4 cards face down, Cards have the numbers 0 to 9 on them. Along with cats on the lower numbers and rats on the higher numbers. Object of the game is to exchange your cards without looking at all of them to obtain the lowest points in front of you. At the beginning of the game you can look at two of the cards, but from that point on you can only look at the card you draw and then you can choose to exchange it for a card in front of you. You can't look at your cards infront of you for the rest of the play of the game, Unless you draw a Peek card. The game is played to 5o or 100 points. highest pionts going out first. The game consists of several small rounds played lasting from a couple minutes to a few minutes, depending on when someone feels they have the lowest points and announces Rat-a-tat cat. At that point all remaining players get one more turn and then every one gets to turn their cards over and add up their points.

Good for around age 4 and up.

We have played this so much we are in need of another deck of cards.

Munchkin, like all good comedy, makes it look easy. The game seems to be a haphazard collection of puns and silly in-jokes for gamers. But there's something else there. It plays well, has fairly balanced rules and manages to keep the competitiveness in the game even through all the laughter, right up to the last card.

This expansion walks the same tightrope, but it does work. The humor is as good as the cover implies, and if you have a group of gamers that enjoy a good laugh, you NEED to grab Munchkin and the first two expansions at least.

I would say that this is a good product if you think of it as a giant booster pack. Not only do you get a number of duplicate cards and a number of random cards but you get a lot. It is possible to get just what you want though there is a risk that you won't. The cards are mainly picked from a few specific booster packs. So if you get lucky you can get just what boosters you want and then by make a good purchase. Now if you don't then there is the chance that you will get decent enough cards to make a deck. If not then you are basically stuck with a number of useless cards that you don't want but for only $9.99 or less you can get what you can get in a three part booster pack and more, just with a slightly less specified booster.

let me just say this product is crisp and all of the cards are new and in perfect condition. ok so there is some repeats. like when i bought it i got 7 of one card. but i also got a few rare holographics. also i got some pieces of exodia. it's definitely worth it to buy this large batch of cards. personally i prefer machines and light types but haven't played with these cards since about 2004. i still like to collect them so, if you do too then it's worth it to buy them. in fact i still have my original battle deck. where i live we used a 100 card deck rule and in all my duels was never defeated with it. also i used my friends deck and beat him while he used mine. so it's skill. anyway i am going to purchase it again. most definitely. it comes in a bag inside if a box but like i said it's all perfect condition still, wich i didn't expect, so yeah gotta go.

I have been looking for a game (board game to be exact) that I could play with my 2 1/2 yr old AND my 5 yr old. So many of the games my 5 yr old can play are just too advanced for my daughter. When I saw this game I took a chance .. esp since she LOVES all of Eric Carle's book. We have played this game almost daily since we received it at Christmas. My 2 1/2 yr old LOVES it. We don't follow the exact rules with her. I put the tiles into 2 piles (one for her / one for me). We each take a turn finding the animal on the tile and placing it on the matching piece on the board. This is something my daughter can do and really enjoys it. We talk about the different colors of the animals and the different sounds they make as we play.

I wanted to share this information as I know so many people have younger children who want to play games just like their older siblings. Here is a game that you can all play together and have fun.

I'll def start buying this game as a bday present for our 2 yr old friends. It's so fun to see them play it. Enjoy!

My son got this game for his 3rd birthday. When we first started playing it he wanted to play it several times every day. 6 months later, I occasionally say, hey, do you want to play Brown Bear Brown Bear and the answer is always yes. We usually play one round the regular way and then one round of Memory. The game is perfect for playing Memory since there are 18 pairs of animal tiles. One thing I really like about this game is that my 1.5 yr. old can participate too. He has learned the meaning of taking turns so when it's "our" turn, he gets to pick a tile and he is able to place it on top of the animal in front of him if I point it out to him. The best part is that he's not disruptive since he gets to play too. We also play a slight variation on the rules. If you pick a tile that belongs in someone else's group of animals, you can put it on their animals rather than put it back in the pile. This helps your friends win too. And we play until everyone wins.

Remember when us Americans used to be upset and would complain about the things that were made in Taiwan? Bet you never thought you'd see the day when you would wish things were made in Taiwan again? This is a very poor attempt to resurrect a classic fun game that gave me, my siblings and friends hours of entertainment. First, the hippos and the board are no longer one piece. so in the heat of "eating" a hippo might pop off, play has to stop so that the player can reattach the hippo and start up again. That would be fine if it happens once a game. But after the 3rd or 4th time, kids lose interest and will just stop playing it. Try to find an original game board with the hippos fixed in place. It was more sturdy and you'll be much happier.

I just bought this game for my daughter, because I remembered it from my childhood. What a mistake! The pieces that form the hippos do not snap in tightly. 1. Plastic "marbles" are too light. They fly way too high and sometimes off the playing field. They also get stuck inside the hippos at times.

2. The hippos frequently get stuck in "locked" position during play rendering them useless. Since they're the key to the game, that's kind of a big deal.

3. Sometimes the hippos fall apart while playing. Not really what you want to happen.

I loved this game as a child. The current version is worthless. Don't get this unless you love frustration and children crying "it's stuck! it's stuck again!" over and over.

We bought 2 of these games for our grandsons recently. It is intense to set up/put together to play only to have to completely tear it back apart to store in the box when done playing. Plus, both games fell apart almost immediately. The construction of the game needs for the players to play gently and yet that is not what the game requires to play. Sadly, the "marbles" aren't even marbles anymore but round pieces of plastic. This game, as made today, is nothing like we had 20 years ago. Our children had fun with this game back in the 80's. Sadly because of poor construction, our grandchildren were not able to enjoy for very long at all.

I only ordered it to combine the "Extra" cards with my original Pokeno Set (had 30+ years and love the game), since the Jumbo Pokeno Too is apparently out of publication, surmised from my search. It would make since to redesign the set and promote it as 12 Original Pokeno Boards and 12 Pokeno Too Boards, having all cards the same size, made of the same sturdy cardboard with a different color for the edges or background of the "Too" set for ease of separation when the number of players dictates the number of boards needed.

Had to have this as soon as I saw the link...my hubby and I are huge Pokemon fans and play it when there's nothing to do...as fans, aplogies to parents who have to ask questions like "Does your Pokemon have four legs?", it's definately more fun for those who know their Pokemon, not just by what they see on the board, but can ask questions like "Does your Pokemon gain a second type when it evolves?" or "Did/does Ash have this Pokemon in any form?" But it also allows you to learn more about Pokemon as you go if you are a newcomer playing with a longtime fan (your kid!)

Only issue is that there are only two different boards, with only 48 Pokemon. With 493 Pokemon in existence (as of the Diamond & Pearl era), there could have been a lot more board options!!!

This game is very similar to the "Guess Who" game, but with Pokemon. Big differences:

- Pokemon instead of people. Makes it a bit confusing. "Is your pokemon weak against electric attacks" questions are hard for parents.

- There are two sets of pokemon cards included. The game is designed so you can switch out all the little cards in the trays with a different set of pokemon. While this lets the kids have more pokemon to choose from, it means the cards are never secured in the slots very well, so if you flip the board upside down to make all the panels flip open, some cards will fall out.

- because of the loose fitting cards, and the constant switching, I can tell this game won't last very long with little ones playing. The cards have already gotten a bit bent, and I ended up just taping one set onto each frame, so they can no longer switch them out.

Overall, they love it, and I'm glad I made the purchase, but don't expect this to be a super durable game.

My son loves Pokemon, so of course he loves this game. I wasn't sure he was going to be able to understand how to play (he is 4), but he caught right on and loves to play it. It is the same as "Guess Who?" but with Pokemon characters. I agree with the others who wrote that the cards do slide out of the holders if you are not careful (and a bit even if you are careful) ... but generally this just takes a quick adjustment. All the cards are just a light cardboard, so if you are playing with a rougher kid, I'm sure these are all toast in a matter of days! The holders are durable, however, and the game is fun. We have definitely got our $13 out of it and nothing has been ruined yet for us.

So the bigger sets with 25 energy cards and 6-of-a-kind only give them a limited amount of "interesting" cards to compare with their friends and trade. Unpredictability.

That is the basic concept behind ANY game of Fluxx, despite the version you end up playing. The rules, goals, and variables are constantly changing, to give every player a chance at winning. Sounds fun, right? "I really have a chance of winning this thing, no matter what I do and who doesn't like zombies?"

Honestly, this game almost made me hate zombies. "uuuuughhhhhhhhh..." (there is a rule where you need to make a zombie noise)

Gameplay

You start with 5 cards, but if any of your initial cards are zombies, you place those in front of you and draw enough to bring you back up to 5. The initial rules are "Draw 1, Play 1" from the deck in the middle, but this never gets around the table, because someone always changes the rule to draw or play more. You follow the current rules (i.e.: Draw 4, play ALL), all in hopes of completing the goal that someone needs to play a Goal card to find out.

There are 5 types of cards in the game, allowing different things to happen at every turn; Action, Goal, New Rule, Keeper, and Creepers(Zombies). Actions allow you to do random things like "choose a player to steal cards from" or "gather up all the Keepers and Creepers and shuffle them, and deal them out again, randomly". Goals change the goal and can even let the Zombies win. New Rules change how the entire game is played. If one card, say Draw 5, is played, it negates the last "Draw #" card that was in play. Same thing applies to the "Hand Limit" and "Play" cards. Keepers are good things you play in order to complete the goal while Creepers are usually Zombies you need to kill before you can win. You can kill off your Zombies, depending on if you have an effective Keeper. There are different types of zombies that do different things when you kill them, and certain Goals allow you to win with them.

Someone wins when their Keeper/Creeper combo meets the Goal stipulations.

Cons

This game is WAY TOO random. There is really no strategy or purpose to speak of because everything you are working towards could easily be scrapped in the very next turn. The Action I mentioned above, with the Keeper/Creeper roundup, ALWAYS gets played to groans. You just can't anticipate anything and it is ridiculously frustrating to lose any ground you feel like you might have made. There is never really any tension that you might win because usually someone randomly plays a Goal and instantly wins from what they just picked up.

The timing can never be gauged. You could conceivably win the game on your first turn which, happily, would defeat the purpose of playing in the first place. Conversely, you can be sitting there with some people having 20 cards in their hand, trying to read every one of them, and everyone groaning because the stupid game won't end. I think that game we played, the Zombies ended up winning too. It was NOT fun, but a waste of time.

Pros

Some people just love Zombies, Monty Python, Christianity, Judaism, or whatever other themes they have for Fluxx. I guess you can have fun on that front, but like I mentioned at the beginning, this version made me start to hate zombies... then I read myself some of The Walking Dead and felt better... ahem...

Sticking to the Pros, the "Moan like a Zombie" rule is at least entertaining for a bit. This rule makes you moan like a Zombie anytime you pick a Zombie. There are things like this in the Monty Python version, singing songs or talking in a silly accent. Smirks happen, given the weak or strong moans some people give.

If you just enjoy random, unpredictable games, this is definitely one.

Final Thoughts

I won't sugar coat it for you; I hate this game. It is endearing for maybe 10 minutes until you realize there is no rhyme or reason to it and you are wasting your time trying to find any. I have played this about 4 or 5 times with my friends and I refuse to play it any more at this point. The frustration felt when nothing you do makes a bit of difference is terrible.

I can't say if the random "I win" moments that happen are like being sucker punched or a bit of happiness that the game is finally over. The second to last time we played, people in the group actually said, "let's play again, maybe the next game will be better." I'm sorry, but every game sucked.

Maybe some kids will like this, but just stay away from ANY Fluxx.

First, I don't have children. My husband and I wanted to play something fun at home, or have something to take to a family get together. Sometimes it's hard to find clever games for just 2 (or more) people. But this definitely takes the cake.

It's pretty easy to learn. It was easier for me because he played it at work. Basically, read the rules, then just play a few hands to get used to it. The rules are written on each card and it keeps changing as you play the game. A game can last just a few minutes to about a half hour from what I can tell.

We got version 4.0 and the Zombie Fluxx. They play about the same and I like them both. You can even combine them, or take a few cards from one and mix them with the original deck. The backs are all the same so that they blend together.

The Original Fluxx won an award from Mensa in 1997 and I can see why. We played for a couple of hours and laughed and had a great time. You have to think and keep up with the cards that are in play, but it's all on the table in front of you so it's not hard.

You'll use your mind, use some strategy and have a lot of fun all at once. There's even a family Fluxx which I think is a bit easier for younger kids.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game for just about anyone. I have already decided to buy a few more decks and give them as gifts.

Fluxx is a fun game that helps players develop dynamic strategies. Zombie Fluxx takes that same whacky structure and adds a bit of entropy to it in the form of "zombies".

The same whimsical humor is present in this version of Fluxx, but with a sardonic twist. With cards themed after famous Zombie movie subplots, there's more complexity and challenge here than with the original Fluxx. But the key idea (that the rules and the winning conditions change with each turn) is still at the heart of this amusing variation of the original.

I first played Dutch Blitz at a women's retreat years ago. As a result, I bought the game to play with my kids, ages 7 through high school. It is a fast game that requires a little strategy and a little speed, but can be as intense (or not) as you want it to be. It's fun and comfortable to play for adults and kids. I took it on a vacation to the beach one year, and when my daughter got too sunburned to go outside one day, we played it all day and never tired of it. Now that's a fun game. This is one of the best card games there is...period. My family loves this game - we all play it alot (ages 8 to adult). It is fast paced, loads of fun, unique, pretty easy to learn, and yes...competitive (its a 4 person game). I know it seems sort of strange at first look - we had the game for a couple of years til we actually played it, but once we did we have never stopped.

The best thing to do is find someone who knows how to play and learn from them. Try it you will love it!

My kids and their grandpa LOVE this game. They make the pirate voices and have a ball. It's a game of strategy but it doesn't drag on and on. Kids can learn this around 7 years of age. Mine haven't gotten tired of it after 2 years. We're a big fan of Gamewright and this is one of our faves. Also check out Sleeping Queens for the younger ones, helps with math and Wig Out which is just fast and furious fun.

We've had this game for our family for a few years and we play it regularly with the kids. We all love to play... it's a blast! It's easy to learn and teaches the kids some strategy skills.
